Carers Rights Day
Thursday 26 November 2020

Having the right support at the right time can make a big difference wherever you are in your caring journey. Therefore, it is important that carers know their rights so that they are able to access support as soon as they need it. Carers Rights Day aims to empower carers with information so that they feel confident in asking for whatthey need and challenging things when their rights are not being met.

Help and Support

Carers Assessment

A carers assessment is an opportunity to record the impact caring has on your life and to find out what support and services may be available to support you.

It is a good idea to get a benefit check for you and the person you care for to make sure that you are claiming all you may be entitled too. Solihull residents can access benefitsupport via the community advice hub on 0121 709 7590.

Caring and Employment

Some rights include: the right to request flexible working; protection from discrimination; not to be treated less favourably than others without caring responsibilities; and the right to take a reasonable amount of time off work to deal withemergencies
