Young Carers Health Professionals Awareness Day

Bridging the Gap between social care and health care professionals for Young Carers

To celebrate Young Carers Awareness Day in 2018 we are holding an event to raise awareness to Health Professionals about children who are caring, how to help identify and help support them.  Out of 55 young carers surveyed in Solihull we found that 60% were escorting the person they cared for to the GP because they couldn’t attend by themselves.  However, only 7% of GP’s actually identify carers of any age in their practice.
